Turn your school time into a winter wonderland with these festive activities. You will be so glad you added them to your December lesson plans.
How can we make games for kids at school entertaining?
To make games entertaining, consider incorporating themes like Gingerbread. You can also try out other themes like Santa’s workshop or Winter Wonderland.
Use colorful decorations, play festive music, and ensure the games are age-appropriate and engaging. Incorporate teamwork and friendly competition to keep the excitement alive.
What supplies should we have on hand for Gingerbread themed activities?
Ensure you have a variety of supplies such as craft materials (colored paper, brown and white paper for the bases, cardboard, buttons, pom poms or other colorful items to be used as candy, glue, scissors), festive decorations, small prizes or treats, and any specific items required for the chosen games.
Don’t forget to grab a (or a few) gingerbread house kits (if possible) to build. If doing this in class, perhaps parents can donut kits or items and this can be used as a team building effort. If doing this at home, use this as fine motor and social skills time.
How can we adapt Gingerbread games for children with varying abilities?
Adapt Gingerbread games by providing options for different skill levels. For example, if playing a scavenger hunt, create picture clues for younger children and written clues for older ones.
Ensure that all children can participate and feel successful, fostering inclusivity and a positive experience for everyone.
