It’s that time of year again! School is about to start and you’re probably scouring the internet trying to find fun, engaging activities for the first day of preschool.
These little ones are so eager to be starting school that they won’t be able to contain themselves! From making new friends, meeting their teachers, and learning new things, preschool is such an amazing time for these kids who have just recently outgrown toddlerhood.

First Day of Preschool Handprint Craft
Why not start the school year off with an adorable first day of preschool activity using their own handprints?
You can download a free printable below of a special first day of preschool craft. This activity will double as wall decor for the classroom, as well as a nice keepsake for parents to remember how little their kids were at this age.
I have included a black and white version of this item. You can purchase other colored versions of this activity in my shop here.
What to Do:
This activity is super simple and only involves 2 items: printer paper or cardstock and finger paint.
Simply print out the free printable below on cardstock or copy paper.
If you’d like to preserve the craft better, cardstock is more durable and can keep it looking nice. However, if you choose to use copy paper, you can also laminate the sheet after the handprints have been added for durability.
If you’d like this activity in color, take a look at the other versions in my shop here. You can also purchase my bundle of preschool first day activities like cutting strips, counting mats, and classroom scavenger hunt as well.
Wishing you much luck at the beginning of this school year!
